Pre-purchase inspections

The Pre-purchase inspection is designed to provide a vessel’s purchaser with adequate information to make an informed decision on the quality and value of a vessel. A Marine Surveyor is contracted by the purchaser to provide this information in a professional and non bias way. At Weaver Marine our Pre-purchase reports are also designed to be suitable for using as insurance reports if required to obtain insurance on the newly purchased vessel.

We test the operation of equipment and electrical fittings and give recommendations on repair or replacement.

The following information would be provided in a Pre-sale inspection.

  1. Photo identification and general description
  2. External hull underwater condition
  3. Underwater engineering
  4. Topsides

Insurance Reports

Insurance reports are designed to give insurers the appropriate information to assess risk in insuring a vessel. The information gathered gives a snapshot of vessel condition both structurally and cosmetically on the day of inspection. Recommendations are given on defects and conditions that may effect the safety and operation of a given craft. Insurance inspections also report on maintenance issues that may cause vessel deterioration leading to damage of the vessel insured.
